[Not News] YamaP vs. The White Snake (Updated 7/9 – Finale)

Many Japanese players (and my friends) are upset about the nerf in Sunken Serpent Labyrinth (White Snake), saying that it “feels less accomplished” to complete the dungeon. Indeed, I cannot disagree with this, why is making 9 combos on a 10 combo board considered a pass??

Anyways! YamaP, the producer of PAD, may have needed the nerf himself… lol

7/6 (Fri), Round 1.

A few days back, YamaP tweeted his time with the White Snake. Welp, he failed even after the nerf. So don’t feel too bad about failing yours!

However! On closer examination it looks like he improved slightly after the few incidents where he flubbed a lot of combos, since he did pass some challenges (at least the 4 combo trial)! Congratulations!

Some JP players (namely Macaroni, he writes some of the funniest comments of YamaP) tell YamaP to go for a checkup at

Eir descended, where one of the floors requires matching 8+ combos… I wonder if YamaP beat the dungeon?

(Eir is the medicine goddess in Norse mythology)

7/7 (Sat), Round 2.

YamaP is back at it again! This time… “I thought I perfectly solved the board but the bombs exploded… ”

Annnnd this is why you should not cascade bombs! Will he finish White Snake? See the next section to find out!

7/8 (Sun), Finale.

YamaP entered White Snake dungeon for the very last time, at 11:59pm, just before it closes! How did he did this time??

To summarize: 

• He got to the 8-combo Bomb floor within two minutes. Good job YamaP.
• He took a deep breath and proceeded to stare at the puzzle for 20 minutes…

And as expected!!! It’s a fail!!!

Ouch YamaP, but please don’t nerf White Snake anymore…
