[Misc] What games are Japanese people playing?
Ogre tweeted this earlier and I figured I’d post it too, with translations. A week without much news gives me a chance to post so many miscellaneous posts…
Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu conducted a survey, asking 1996 people of age 10-49 (1342 male and 654 female) what mobile games they are currently playing.
Not a huge pool, but let’s see what everyone is playing… Specifically, what Japanese gamers are playing!
Sorted by gamers’ pick:
- Puzzle & Dragons (!?)
- LINE: Tsum Tsum
- Pokemon GO
- Monster Strike
- The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls: Starlight Stage
- Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp
- Power Pros
- Disney Tsum Tsum Land
- The Idolmaster Million Live!: Theater Days
- Identity V
- Winning Eleven 2018
- Azur Lane
- Knives Out (荒野行動)
- Fate/Grand Order
- Granblue Fantasy
- Shironeko Project (White Cat Project)
- Candy Crush Soda Saga
- The Battle Cats (にゃんこ大戦争)
- Othellonia (逆転オセロニア, actually has YYH collab right now lol)
- Quiz RPG: The World of Mystic Wiz
I guess my reaction is the same as one of the best comment in Ogre’s post: “Is this a recent issue of Famitsu?”
But really, glad to see PAD climbed up again (No regrets in making this site now haha). Do keep in mind that the sample size isn’t large, and it’s only 1 vote difference between #1 and 2.
Another note is that the number in brackets appear to be counts from “non-gamers”. So if you sort by that, PAD would not be #1 (#3 instead, still pretty good)! Still an interesting survey anyhow.
