Hi! I’m Reni, known as the Mama on a number of Puzzle and Dragons (PAD) Discord servers. I’m a moderator on Puzzle Dragon X and its Discord server, a casual artist (?), a super casual (??) PAD player, and also a Pikachu fan.

Currently I live in the homeland of PAD and anime, working crazy hours every day. I spend my lunch hours and break/sleep time maintaining this site.

That said, in PAD I have a Rank 930+ main account on NA server, and a rank 660+ alt. account on JP server. I played a lot, and now I blog a lot more.

Oh, I’m not a mom in real life.

My PAD Story

The NA main account.

Before PAD happened, I used to play another GungHo game called Princess Punt like mad (non-IAP though). One day, two friends of mine showed me PAD, and I was intrigued how similar it is to my other favorite game, Bejeweled. Well, that one friend was playing Archangel Lucifer, literally matching like bejeweled… I saw how cute Lucifer looked, got tempted (there really isn’t any husbandos on Princess Punt), and downloaded PAD.

With Dark Dragon Knight as my starting roll, I believed that I got the best roll on Puzzle & Dragons, and began my adventure on PAD NA server. I’m now 1300+ days old on the server! 😀

Why NA and not JP main?

I started off as a NA player since I was studying in Canada. Job happened and I moved to Japan a few years ago. Being non-Japanese, I figured I’d start learning Japanese by starting Japanese version of PAD. At the time I could barely read “Puzzle and Dragons” in Japanese, let alone the rest of the game!

Years went by, my Japanese got way better thanks to PAD, and now I can understand most things in game. Being Chinese also helps, I guess.

Despite having somewhat limited Japanese knowledge, I hope to help others (and maybe you) who struggle playing JP PAD, without knowing the complex language of Japanese. That’s why this blog exist!
