Sonia Elle added to Monster Point Store! / Mini History of Light Sonia
No buffs. Read on for a brief history of Light Sonia!
Side Note: History of Light Sonia / How to Get Her
Just like what I did for Dark Sonia, let’s talk about Sonia Elle and how she was introduced! (Can you tell how much I like Sonias?)
1. From Purchasing a Magazine
On November 2, 2017, GungHo released a magazine called PAD Radar Super Ultimate Strategy Book (パズル&ドラゴンズ パズドラレーダー対戦超攻略BOOK), geared towards promoting PAD Radar versus mode. Sonia Elle came as a little plastic toy (Armor Drop), which can be scanned and claimed in 3 games and 1 toy: PAD, PAD Radar, and PAD Cross (PADX, Nintendo 3DS game), and D-Gear (Toy).
When she was announced, everyone speculated she’d have a full board as active skill. We were half right – She does have board in PAD Radar… Somehow she became Fire on PAD instead.
The book was available for 980 yen. Official link here. Again, since this book is quite old now it’s relatively hard to find.
Just like Dark Sonia, the magazine came with a manga, with background information of Light Sonia! By the way, she’s related to Red Sonia.
Light Sonia was drawn by the PAD artist Yosuke Adachi, and the manga was drawn by Momota Inuoe.
2. PAD Ranking Dungeon: Sonia Elle Cup (26% needed)
That’s the Ranking Dungeon NA server just had, which JP server played on 2/22. Sonia Elle is the prize for anyone who received 26% or higher percentile in the ranking dungeon.
3. Attending GungHo Festival 2018 (Free)
Yes, free Sonia Elle for anyone who attended GungHo Festival in Chiba. Well, if you weren’t in Tokyo area then you have to travel there… takes quite a bit of time and dedication (I didn’t go).
Japan-exclusive, of course.
4. Now: Monster Point Store!
Now we have it, Monster Point store! 250,000 Monster Points for one. North America (NA) Server should be really happy since now there’s an easier way to get her (besides just one ranking dungeon that just passed).
Mama’s Thoughts
It’s interesting to see how both Light and Dark Sonia were introduced in similar manners. I really hope to see more variations of Sonias in the future (okay Power Pros version was really cute too, too bad I didn’t get her)!
