[Unboxing] PAD Wafers with Collectible Cards!
PAD Wafers. We hear it a lot, and I get asked about it a lot too. So this time I bought some again and took pics!
What are these wafers?
Every so often, Bandai releases these wafers of many series! Basically they’re waifu wafers, and they are common for many series. Monster Strike, Love Live, FGO, Gintama, Shinra Bansho, and DragonBall all had something like this in the past! Each little pack contains a piece of wafer biscuit and a collectible card.
Note that these are not the PAD Trading Cards, those have been discontinued.
The official name of the wafers is Chouzetsu Puzzle & Dragon Wafers (超絶パズドラウエハース). The series started back in 2013, you can see all of the past collection on Bandai’s JP site!
The latest wafers!
Despite the original post where I said that only convenience stores and super markets carrying them, I found them in Animate as well! Animate is one of the Japanese anime chain stores that carry… almost everything anime, from books to goods. Check it out if you travel to Japan!
If you happen to drop by the PAD Pop-up store in Nagoya, Japan, they also carry the wafers!
The wafers are placed in boxes, and each pack of wafers is 120 yen before tax (~$1 USD). I bought 4 packs myself! (Wow I sound whale, 4 packs of wafers not stones!)
My goal was to get Sad Tamadra or any in that happy/sad series. Let’s see how I did!
Annnd I opened them all. Here’s the results: 3 shiny cards! Green Ney, Rikuu, Apolluo, and a non-shiny Rainbowpy!
Many people asked me how the wafer is. Here’s how it looks like… a standard chocolate wafer! It’s almost the size of the package, and wider than the collectible card itself!
For 120 yen it taste pretty darn good.
Some older collections
Some asked me about my older collections. Here are some of my favorites from older collections! I have about 21 cards total now. The chance of getting a shiny card really isn’t that low. If you like collecting cards, certainly look for them!
So here we are, wafers. If you see them, try out your luck and enjoy a snack!
