GungHo has heard me (?), and brought back the PAD pop-up store at one location. Well, I happen to be there!! Wondering how the store is like? Here’s my adventure and loots from the store!

The PAD Pop-Up Store

Just yesterday we heard information about the return of the Pop-up store! Last time we had the limited-time store for about 3 weeks, as you may recall from my past adventure.

This time, instead of having it available everywhere in Japan, the new PAD Pop-up store is only in Nagoya, Japan (between Osaka and Tokyo) for 2 weeks! See here for information about this store.

I brought my PAD plushies and went to the store for photos! Here we go, photo spam!

The first PAD monster that greets you is a giant Miru!!

The front: “Battle Area” & Exhibition

Let’s go area by area! right in the middle is the battle area, or really.. a resting area for people to talk about PAD, or battle in PAD Radar. The stools are cute and light, with orbs on top. I was there a little early, so no one was around. Perfect time for photos though!

If there were more orbs, I’d make a no-RCV board just for fun…

There’s also some exhibition of illustrations from PAD, with artist comments. Those are exactly the same as the ones from GungHo Festival 2018, you can find translations here!

Tamadra Invades!!

Every so often (maybe once an hour?) there’s a giant, human-sized Tamadra invading!

The wings flap. flaps. FLAPS. (Edit: The arms moves too.)

Tama Tama, flap flap!

Photo Corner

Okay it legit is just a throne. All the cutie Tamadras get some fun.

The Shop

Now as expected they have goods for sale! All the goods from the last PAD Pop-Up store (including Miru/DAthena T-shirts) are there, and a new Splash Toon-like PAD mug as well.

What’s also new this time are new PAD Scratch Cards. You pay at the cashier for a card, scratch the silver area with a coin and see what you win from this interesting pool of prizes.

  • A-prize: Clear Panel
3 kinds: Tsubaki, Sumire, or Kaede. It’s layered artwork, pretty nice looking, but probably random too..
  • B-prize: Muffler Towel
A neck towel with a number of newer PAD monsters.
  • C-prize: Chime Keychains
    5 total: Uruka/lotus, Ilmina/book, Romia/paw footprints, Closed Tamadra/Tamadra, Downpy/Rainbowpy.
  • D-prize: Mini Tapastry
Made of fabric with a strap to hang them up. 5 total: Diao Chan, Eir, Mega Awoken Rodin, Mega Awoken Blodin, and Rushana.
  • E-prize: Stickers
5 total: Takamimusubi, Kamimusubi, Amenominakanushi, Reeche, Madoo.

I bought some scratch cards as well, you can see my loots in a separate section below!

Everything is Better with a Tamadra

Besides those above, there isn’t much except the little cutouts of the Dragon Callers and Dragon Bounds. I decided to take a photo of each one, with my Happy Tamadra!

But isn’t everything better with a Tamadra?

Fun fact: I went back the next day and noticed Light Ideal is gone… I think someone took it!?

I went back to get some REMdra action too!

My Loots

Going there I knew I was going to do some shopping. This time, it’s the real life gacha — PAD Scratch Cards! The prizes range from A to E, where A is the best prize (a giant frame of Tsubaki, Sumire, or Kaede).

I decided to go a bit crazy and bought 9 scratch cards. Here’s my results!

Consolation Prizes

Basically anything below C prizes are consolation prizes, or the “thanks for playing” prizes. Think in the REM.

Of the 9 I bought, I ended up with 8 of them! This is just like any Godfest in PAD… 7 of them are E-prizes, and 2 are D-prizes.

And NO, you can’t even pick the one you want. It’s a gacha-in-gacha!! Welcome to PAD!

The E-Prizes: PAD Stickers. They are bigger than I thought. Though honestly… not very useful and bad prize since the ticket costs 600 yen. I can get better things from other raffles at that price.

The D-Prizes: PAD Wall Tapestry. Now this one is funny…. I wanted Rodin the most, but I didn’t expect 2 of him! These aren’t huge as you can see by comparison to my keyboard. Great for decoration.

The Final Scratch Card

… I went back and bought one more, that’s the 9th scratch card. It was the B-prize I really wanted!! The PAD muffler towel!

It’s a really nice towel. Whether it’s worth buying 9 tickets for… That’s another story. The good prizes are nice anyhow, if you get them. I do think the scratch cards are a bit overpriced for what it offers, especially compared to what other raffles such as the Ichiban-Kuji offer.

Epilogue

Honestly I had more fun with this than the original pop-up store, although I was a little disappointed at the scratch card prizes. The giant Tamadra-kun (although not extremely well-made) really was fun to take photos with!

Hopefully we get more PAD real life events, and more goods… I look forward to it!
