[Misc.] Things YamaP Say (That may lead to nothing) – MTG and Gunma

It’s almost year-end holidays in Japan (no we don’t get Christmas off in Japan), and YamaP (producer of PAD) talks a lot again… Will any of this lead to something in PAD though? Hmmm.

YamaP received a card…

Greetings to YamaP, from Wizards of the Coast – the company behind Magic: The Gathering (MTG)!

With a post like this, of course everyone speculate and hope MTG collab will return after Yu-Gi-Oh collab… Considering how Duel Masters and MTG were back-to-back collabs in 2018, it’s actually not impossible. Fingers crossed!

YamaP is loving the new Gunma Switch game

Remember Gunma? That’s one of the prefectures in Japan (equivalent to state/province for you guys in NA), and there’s a crop-gathering simulation game based off it since 2012! Gunma no Yabou (Gunma’s Ambition) is coming to Nintendo Switch, and YamaP is loving it!

That’s the game where this originated from:

For those interested, the game is available soon (Dec. 26) for 686 yen or $6.99 USD (30% off until 1/31), and is available in Japanese and English. The trailer is… interesting, you can see it here:

Will we see more Gunma/Gunma buff in PAD eventually? Let’s hope so!

Of course, all of above are things YamaP randomly mentions, and may have absolutely no connection to what we get in PAD. (Though at times his magical words do come true – like Yu-Gi-Oh collab!)

  1. I remember a few months ago he mentioned something about Yu-Gi-Oh. I think he bought/opened some card packs or something like that. Then a few months after that post, the Yu-Gi-Oh was announced to be joining PAD as one of the long list its of collabs.

Anyway maybe this is him silently hinting at the return of the MTG collab. If so I can’t wait, Vraska is still my favorite card from any none seasonal collab. If you haven’t red her lore, it’s actually pretty cool.
