Ranking All 33 Pantheons

| Aug. 16, 2020 | 3,311 views |   3

A few friends and I were discussing on Discord what the worst pantheon is overall, so I thought it would be fun to compile a list of every one and judge their total usefulness. This list is obviously subjective and isn’t meant to be taken seriously or have lasting relevancy since new buffs and evos are constantly coming out, so it will cover the current state of pantheons as of August 2020.

Some ground rules for this ranking: first, a pantheon is a group of 5 cards of all 5 attributes in the rare egg machine all sharing the same theme, such as Norse Gods or Cyber Dragons. This does not include any GFEs, ex-GFEs (ie: norns), farmables (ie: mpdras), seasonal variants, or ones currently no longer in the REM (healer girls). There are some oddballs such as the Wizards series (Rei Sirius, Wee Jas, etc) and the Ninjas (Chiyome, Hatsume, etc) that don’t qualify as pantheons. Secondly, the list will be ranked based on the total usefulness of the pantheon as a whole. For example, if a pantheon has one absolutely amazing card with the rest being trash, it’ll likely be ranked worse than a pantheon full of mediocrity, or vice versa if the entire pantheon is total trash.

#33 – Armor Knights

Nim

Muse

Delgado

Arcline

Creuse

Starting off the bottom of the list with in my opinion the objectively worst pantheon are the Armor Knights. As subs and leads these have close to no value with the exception of Delgado who received buffs from a JP stream. The only noticeable thing about the other 4 is the active skill providing a true damage button and burst, which hardly ever sees use from anybody, if at all. Funny enough Delgado’s buffs lowered his cooldown to 6 while the others stayed at 10 despite all sharing essentially the same active.

#32 – Cyber Beast

Markab

Alfecca

Phact

Leonis

Kakkab

While nothing shines in this pantheon, the only reason it’s not lower than the Armor Knights is because the potential usefulness of the active, as it can be usable in farming and even systemable, although their poor stats and relatively weak awakenings means you won’t be using this system for anything serious any time soon. Many people expected equips to be added with them not having any evolutions, but for now they remain disappointments.

#31 – Constellation God II

Denebola

Acubens

Algedi

Alcyone

Hamal

Probably the least fair ranking as this is one of the only pantheons that’s incomplete, with only 2 of the 5 even having an awoken form. The current state of these cards are very poor, having horribly outdated awakenings and leaderskills while fulfilling a jammer niche nobody is interested in. The only redeeming quality of this pantheon are Awoken Denebola and Acuben’s active skills, being some of shortest cooldown bicolors available, which are very welcome in a ranking setting.

#30 – Constellation God

Antares

Alrescha

Spica

Pollux

Castor

Not any more impressive than their sibling pantheon, the first iteration of the Constellation Gods are just as disappointing. Even with reincarnated forms it’s hard to justify ever using some of these, but they were notable at the time of release for having usable 7×6 leaderskills. The active skills sometime come in handy as well but aren’t necessarily better than the Cyberbeast/dragons. Overall this entire pantheon is weak but at least somewhat usable for those with small boxes.

#29 – Weapons/Braves II

Claiomh Solais

Arondight

Caladbolg

Gan Jiang & Mo Ye

Misteltein

Even with equips this pantheon continues to fade into irrelevancy. The base forms of the cards are basically useless as subs or leads while the equips become continually outclassed with seemingly every new REM that comes out. The equips aren’t necessarily bad as they do still provide some wanted awakenings, but aren’t special in any way and are competing against a heavier diluted pool of similar equips.

#28 – Cyber Dragon

Thuban

Sadalmelik

Alnair

Shedar

Diadem

Practically identical to their Cyber Beast counterpart; having only 1 form, weak leaderskill, weak sub potential, but does have an objectively better and more universally useful active. Row farming is always prevalent and having one that hastes can be irreplaceable on certain teams. Other than this specific usage, they are no doubt some of the weakest cards available.

#27 – Legendary Hero

Napoleon

Barbarossa

Robin Hood

Yang Guifei

Oda Nobunaga

The definition of “troll diamonds.” This is a pantheon with pretty appealing awakenings but weak stats and non-existent leaderskills. YGF is probably the most noticeable of the 5 as she was once the best balanced killer for something like Hashihime in AA1. Unfortunately now she’s outclassed by many cards, even some farmables, in terms of damage. In general just a weak pantheon with little to no relevancy as subs on any modern team.

#26 – Indian God II

Krishna

Sarasvati

Vishnu

Ganesha

Durga

The first “real” or at least one of the most recognizable pantheons on the list, the Indian God II pantheon really isn’t that bad but overall just mediocre. Having 2 of the R/B/G cards of this pantheon on a team can make for a nice skyfall system which compliments their OE awakenings quite well. Ganesha is still noticeable for his exp + gold gain and for many players is the only card to offer this, while Durga is just kinda forgotten about. Again, not bad, but compared to what other pantheons offer as a whole this deserves to be near the bottom of the list.

#25 – Japanese God II

Ame no Uzume

Umisachi & Yamasachi

Kushinadahime

Izanagi

Okuninushi

One could argue this should be the #26 swapped with the Indian God II, but I found it just ever so slightly better. This pantheon is primarily carried by Izanagi, whose active is still pretty strong albeit not as relevant since DMeta isn’t top dog anymore, as well as Okuni who makes for a good damage stick still with his triple 7c awakenings. Kushinada was once the best leader in the game for content such as A3 but those days are long gone and she hardly sees use anymore. Ame/U&Y however are dumpster tier and greatly take away from the value this pantheon holds.

#24 – Greco Roman II

Ares

Hermes

Artemis

Apollo

Persephone

Another pantheon that can be switched with #26, but I find it overall a little more useful mostly from the active skills granting strong orb generation on any team. With only Hermes having a super reincarnation, this is a pantheon that could likely increase in value soon once a new one comes out. As it stands though the other 4 aren’t that useful anywhere aside from inherits, but do hold up somewhat in terms of value.

#23 Three Kingdoms

Caocao

Sun Quan

Lui Bei

Da Qiao & Xiao Qiao

Lu Bu

If not for Lu Bu this pantheon would likely rank in the bottom 3. His recent reincarnation evolution completely carries this rank as it’s super good in speedrunning/farming. Sun Quan is also noteworthy from his stream buffs giving him super blind resist, but isn’t that applicable anyway when everything is receiving said resist. Lui Bei has fallen from grace as the premier wood farm lead and the other 2 not mentioned are complete junk at the moment. Do note they ARE getting buffed soon, so hopefully this’ll revive this pretty garbage pantheon.

#22 – Three Kingdoms II

Xiahou Dun

Gan Ning

Ma Chao

Diaochan

Sima Yi

Similarly to 3K1, this pantheon’s rank is carried by a single card, that being Diaochan. It’s no surprise she was voted #1 last Player’s Choice GodFest as the utility she brings is insanely good on many current teams. The rest of the cards aren’t that good but do have super resists and can make for somewhat decent TPA sticks of their respective color, making this pantheon slightly better than its predecessor.

#21 – Samurai God

Sanada Yukimura

Mori Motonari

Ishida Mitsunari

Maede Keiji

Akechi Mitsuhide

A pretty decent pantheon all around, not having much general usage but do fulfill some nice niches. Mori is the most notable roll from his non-awoken form giving a bicolor with a 2 turn haste, which is great to have in farming/ranking, and he definitely bumps up the rank of this pantheon a little. The other revo forms aside from Maede are serviceable as killer subs and have actives that still hold up well. Not the best by any means but far from the worst on this list.

#20 – Norse God

Freyr

Idunn & Idunna

Freyja

Thor

Loki

Similarly to Greco Roman II, you can expect more super reincarnations in the future here. This pantheon is a pretty mixed bag but overall decent in terms of value. Thor is the most recent super revo to exist and makes for a strong VDP damage stick. Freyja never really took off in NA but her leader potential is still pretty ok. I&I was once herald as one of the strongest damage sticks in game but fell off quickly with powercreep. Freyr and Loki don’t stand out much and all the pantheon’s actives are decent, especially after buffs giving them a recovery boost as well.

#19 – Gemstone Princess

Silk

Carat

Cameo

Facet

Sheen

Might be surprising to find this pantheon ranked higher than many others since there’s zero leader/sub potential and even the equip forms don’t offer really anything, but it’s hard to deny how universally useful and irreplaceable Carat is for basically all content in the game. Her burst often gives some of the highest damage on offer and is the easiest to buff up. It would make sense to rank this pantheon close to the 3K2 but the other actives here are still useful, especially Sheen if you don’t own Carat.

#18 Wisedragon

Nerva

Mercuria

Bacches

Apolluo

Diena

For those who don’t follow JP news, this series recently got buffed, giving all of them 4 SB, 4 OE, and a pretty strong unconditional leaderskill that could be relevant in rankings/farming. Before that this pantheon would’ve been around Armor Knight levels of bad since they suck to make and only have relevance as assists, where most everyone would still decide to use Carat and co. This ranking still might be controversial post-buff but their niche usage seems superior than the other pantheons ranked worse so far.

#17 – Archdemon

Belial

Amon

Astaroth

Baal

Lucifer (archdemon)

A meddling pantheon that fits right in the middle perfectly. The one standout card here is Astaroth who is one of the best wood leads in the game. This version of Lucifer is still noticeable as a 4sb stick while sporting decent god killing damage. The other 3 cards are pretty bad overall with nothing noteworthy about their actives or awakenings. They have seen some ranking usage but that’s a niche hardly recognized.

#16 – Weapons/Braves

Shotel

Claymore

Masamune

Kopis

Zweihander

I personally would have this as one of my top pantheons as I LOVE the killer equips in general. Their usage extends to all parts of the game and are often times unmatched in the damage they provide. There are a few double killer equips such as Ciel or Echidna that easily outclass these, but the garbage base forms of this pantheon means you’ll have no quarrel making the equips. One stand out card is Claymore after her stream buffs, actually making for a strong sub from her low cooldown and super blind resist, most notably for Norza teams in AA4.

#15 – Greco Roman III

Hestia

Tethys

Cronus

Astraea

Uranus

Not much better than the noticeable pantheons before it but at the same time overall better than the ones that are carried by a single card. The sub and active skill usage of these cards slightly beat out the other pantheons earlier on this list as the damage provided from Cronus & Uranus or the healing from Hestia is fairly decent. The active skills are also nice but are becoming more and more replaceable with newer cards giving attribute absorb nulls for content such as AA4/Shura Realm. You likely won’t find many modern teams subbing anything here however, making this pantheon seem undeserving of this rank.

#14 – Heroic God

Yamato Takeru

Andromeda

Perseus

Sun Wukong

Pandora

In a similar boat to the Greco III as they have nice active skills and usable sub potential, but what makes this pantheon slightly better is super revo Pandora making for an excellent leader. Dark row leads are in no shortage of supply but she’s an accessible option that many won’t mind having. Hopefully more super revos will release later as this once strong pantheon is becoming less and less sought after.

#13 – Celtic God

Brigid

Aife

Dagda

Lugh

Arianrhod

A mostly mediocre pantheon that does have some intricacies and strengths that bump it above most others on this list. Starting with Brigid who is the most noticeable card here with very good machine killing damage and makes for a great Barbara & Julie pair for midgame content. Other than that, Aife is an alright damage stick and the autofua from her and Brigid/Dagda is the most relevant aspect of this pantheon. Lugh is a fujin-like active which is never bad to own and Arianrhod has application when it comes to cheesing. Nothing too flashy here but overall one of the better pantheons.

#12 – Greco Roman

Minerva

Neptune

Ceres

Venus

Hades

One of the first pantheons to debut in pad and one that is on track for more super revos. This pantheon is most noticeable for super revo Hades, not currently in NA, who makes for a very impressive TPA oriented lead in all content of the game. The other noteworthy card is Venus who is a full package in terms of lead and sub potential, while the rest of the pantheon mostly falls short of anything meaningful, with Neptune in particular being a contender for worst pantheon card in game.

#11 – Egyptian God II

Set

Nut

Osiris

Hathor

Nephthys

Another pantheon that has overall decent value without any standouts carrying this rank. The greatest strength of these cards is the sub potential of each, providing decent damage and low cooldown actives. Osiris and Nephthys are probably the most usable cards here, especially in farming settings that utilize the active skills. Even without any super revos, this pantheon is one of the strongest and can only go up from here.

#10 – Mesopotamian God

Gilgamesh

Ea

Enkidu

Shamash

Allatu

Without the recent buffs and evolutions, this was undeniably a crap pantheon. Even with said upgrades it’s hard to defend these over the Egyptian II for example, but their main strengths are the active skills. Gilgamesh having a reduced cooldown to 12 is great and makes for one of the fastest fujin-like actives available while Allatu’s new evo is essentially a 7sb card when using the delay, making her a key sub on many dark transform teams. Ea has an okay leaderskill sometimes relevant in ranking while Shamash’s active is extremely niche but sometimes irreplaceable. Meanwhile, Enkidu receiving super blind resist might have stopped him from taking Neptune’s crown as worst pantheon card.

#9 – Japanese God

Hino Kagutsuchi

Viper Orochi

Susano

Amaterasu

Yomi

Another one of the earliest pantheons to debut and most recognizable. With 4/5 of the cards having super revos, this pantheon does have a big advantage over others. Amaterasu is no doubt the highlight here, currently being the best recovery stick on any team that can support her, usually off color ones too. The rest besides Hino who is Neptune-tier bad are all solid cards to own between their simple yet strong active skills and sub potential. Hopefully the last super revo will make Hino the powerhouse we all know he can be.

#8 – Archangel

Uriel

Gabriel

Michael

Raphael

Lucifer (seraph)

The entirety of this pantheon focuses around sub potential and damage with relevant awakenings and decent active skills to support them. Each super revo so far has buffed their former evolutions significantly with the exception of Gabriel who was rather disappointing. Seraph Lucifer is a great farming tool and Raphael makes for a strong endgame content clearing leader. Hopefully Uriel/Michael receive strong super revos down the road with the overall usefulness of this pantheon looking good.

 #7 – Angel II

Rozuel

Famiel

Ruel

Ariel

Lumiel

Some of the best reincarnations we’ve gotten so far, turning absolute junk into strong and applicable cards with super resists and 4sb. The low cooldowns of these cards also make them appealing options on a variety of teams in a variety of content. Everything here also has usable leaderskills but are pretty outclassed by most other options. Overall this pantheon is high value and will have lasting relevancy in most boxes.

#6 – Wisdom Kings

Trailokyavijaya

Kundali

Acala

Vajrayaksa

Vajrabhairava

The “farming pantheon” on this list as that’s the primary usage of everything here. LVaj and DVaj are some of the strongest cards in game and are widely wanted in duplicates as the insane ATK stat in co-op makes these cards premier button bases. Overall they’re just strong options, sub or lead, on plenty of teams too. Acala’s active is one of the best to get some extra combos when paired with a full board while Kundali and Trailo don’t see much spotlight but are still relevant. All types of players from new to veteran would appreciate owning these cards.

#5 – Indian God

Shiva

Lakshmi

Parvati

Indra

Vritra

An oldie that is one of the first to have super revos for every card. This pantheon is overall fantastic, offering a mixed bag of strengths that see usage across every aspect of the game. Shiva is a universally great damage stick, Lakshmi offers impressive healing, Parvati is unmatched when it comes to damage under the right conditions, Indra is a superb sub for many teams, while Vritra has a decent leaderskill but much more noticeable god killing damage. Anything you roll here would be good to own, except the only real problem is the dupe-friendliness and resource cost of these cards are quite weak.

#4 – Samurai God III

Takeda Shingen

Uesugi Kenshin

Date Masamune

Toyotomi Hideyoshi

Tokugawa Ieyasu

For some this could be the top pantheon once the equips come out, as they’re all insanely good. A SB and 4 resists is absolutely amazing and fits incredibly well on any transform team. With super resists becoming increasingly common it’s hard to say the lasting power of these equips, but most teams are usually missing a resist which is where these come in the most handy. The revo forms are hard to recommend without dupes, and for the most part are forgettable compared to the equips. The one exception to this is Kenshin and how god-tier he is as a card overall, being a white whale to many (including myself).

#3 – Samurai God II

Inahime

Nene

Oichi

Tachibana

Nohime

Ever since this pantheon debuted its been one of the strongest and widely sought after. With the recent JP buffs it has to be one of the most relevant and usable pantheons to date. The active skill buffs to the R/B/G cards are AMAZING for current endgame content and solve basically every mechanic while also providing a board. Tachibana and Nohime have always been the ones with the best sub potential and their revos continue that trend offering good damage, utility, and skillboosts. The reason this isn’t the best pantheon in my opinion is just because the sub potential of the R/B/G subs are fairly low and there’s hardly any leader potential either.

#2 – Egyptian God

Horus

Isis

Bastet

Ra

Anubis

I feel like I hardly need to explain what makes this pantheon as a whole so good. With every card owning a super revo, their uses as subs, leads, or inherits are plentiful. Horus is another “white whale” card who sees usage in every aspect of the game and is quite good where he fits in. Isis’s super revo makes her a great option for rainbow teams, Bastet is most noticeable for her damage and ranking usage, while Ra is one of the best and most accessible buttons. Anubis surprisingly is the least relevant of the bunch after being such a prominent lead for so long. The other pro about this pantheon is the usefulness of duplicates, mostly Ra and Horus.

#1 – Chinese God

Leilan

Karin

Meimei

Sakuya

Haku

Shouldn’t be surprising to anyone as these are the most recognizable cards that receive the most attention from GungHo, with all of them having super revos, pixel evos, AND equips. No other REM card let alone pantheon has this kind of value, and while these evos individually may not be as useful as something like a Sam III equip, the overall value is undeniably above and beyond anything else on this list. Unlike the Indian God pantheon, the super revos really aren’t even that expensive when we just had a month of 0 stam Qilin (the gem used for these evos) and the multiple evolutions makes them very dupe friendly. Qilin Dragon is gated behind tougher content for the earring equips however. Overall these girls make up the best and most widely applicable pantheon, and also make for good debate on who is the best (Karin is btw).

That’s my list, let me know in the comments which ones are your favorites and which placements you agree/disagree on the most. Hope you enjoyed!

  1. Personally I do not consider Armor Knights, Weapons 1 and 2, Wise Dragons, Cyber Beast, Cyber Dragons, Legendary Heroes, or Gemstones to be Pantheons. As I see it, Pantheons have a number of qualities that they do not:

The first is that all members are at least five star at base.

The second of which is that Pantheons are generally singled out on their release as being a Pantheon, and they are all released together.

The third is that they have a Godfest with them featured shortly after their release, and that they are regularly included in Godfests.

The fourth is that they all appear ashighlights in non-special weekly REM rotations.

The fifth is that they have to be evolvable into at least one non-assist evolution. (An extra clause to this would be that all five star Pantheon cards either have two non-Awoken ultimate evolutions, or one super ultimate evolution. It could even be a fair arguement to say that all five star Pantheons should have an Awoken evolution by this point.)

(A potential sixth requirement would be that they were included in a Rank Memorial REM within two Rank Memorial REMs since the Pantheons release. We could argue over how to accurately dictate this one, and as such I leave it out for the time being. I do feel like their should be some consideration taken towards the fact that all Pantheons do appear in at least one Memorial REM. We could even say that all Pantheons released by the introduction of the Rank 700 REM should be included in it. )

(Similarly, a potential seventh requirement would be that they have to be in the Bargin Bundle and PAD Pass Godfest roll by X reset since their release. I want to say within two resets, since they are likely to not be included if the first reset is too close to their initial release. I do forget if Samurai 3 was added in the first one after their’s, so that clause could be unnecessary.)

None of them break the first criteria. Armor Knights and Wise Dragons break everything else except for the second half of the first, and the initial requirement for the fourth. Weapons 1 and 2, Cyber Beasts, and Cyber Dragons break everything else except for the second half of the first. And finally, Legendary Heroes and Gemstones break everything else except for the initial requirement for the fourth. In fact, they both were originally given the title of Gala Exclusives, and were released one at a time during the Gala of the respective attribute.

I am interested to hear why you would consider these series Pantheons though. I am especially interested considering you chose not to include the Ninjas, when I feel that they are one of the series that actually come closest to being like a Pantheon. This is definitely the first time I have heard any of these being regarded as a Pantheon before, so I hope you will indulge me with your reasoning.

    1. I realized after a while that I never included the fact that all Pantheons have a base rarity of five stars or higher, and decided to make that the first criteria. As such, I had to go edit parts of the paragraph where i discussed where what series breaks what criteria. I seemed to have missed some of them, so where it says anything about the “first criteria” after the first sentence, please regard that as having meant to said the “second criteria”.
