Not exactly news, but for those who are curious… This is how the McDonald’s collab works in Japan!

I’ve initially posted some information on another post, this post is the actual details of how you get everything… if you’re in Japan!

As of Part 1, this collab gives:

• 
  [5228] Happy Tamadra x 1
• Japan McDonald’s discount coupons x 6 (1 from PADR, 5 from McDonald’s app)
• A chance for a cute Cotton McDonald’s gift card

We don’t know what Part 2 is yet, but since I’m in Japan, I figured I can make a walk-through of the entire collab as I get my freebies.

Getting the Happy Tamadra

Okay stop staring, we all know how cute this is. You can only get this if you have PAD JP account that is hooked up to PAD Radar, and be physically in Japan!

If you’re in Japan, if you open PADR it can look something like this. These are the treasures that are Japan-only, and each of those aren’t actually a McDonald’s location (that’d be quite worrying). Though… Tamadra Infestation much?

Note that you can only get 1 Happy Tamadra/raffle coupon.

Clicking on one will send the dungeon to PAD. If you return to PAD, you’ll find a mail with the gift dungeon waiting for you. The dungeon is available for 24 hours once opened.

Besides the Tamadra, obtaining the treasure also sends a mail to your PADR mail. It’s a coupon present that you can use in McDonald’s! Let’s click on the green button to use the coupon…

Well instead of just a coupon, you get a raffle! Let’s see what I get by clicking on the blue buttons.

From the raffle I got a discount coupon! 50 yen off on Gran Clubhouse Set (with medium fries and drink) if I show the cashier the code covered by the blue box. I guess I’ll use it when I’m at McDonald’s next time.

Gacha in McDonald’s app

Time for the real gacha since we’re talking about PAD! Japan has two McDonald’s apps – One for McDelivery, the other is the main one for discount coupons and codes used in store. The collab with PAD is within the main coupons app!

For this part, you don’t have to be physically at McDonald’s, unless you’re using the coupon. In the McDonald’s app, scroll down and you’ll find that gold dragon you love/hate.

There’s only 4 buttons: Roll, Result Box, Details, and Close (top to bottom, left to right). Let’s roll with it.

My result was a discount for any carbonated drink (medium size)! The awesome part is that you can get a maximum of 5 discount coupons in the next few weeks, refreshing weekly! The coupon is stored under the “Result Box” tab, and do have expiry dates listed.

Twitter: Retweet campaign

One of the few times I’m spot on – We really do see a Cotton Gift Card for McDonald’s (McCard)! Unfortunately this ships to Japan only!

The value on the card is 500 yen, but honestly I doubt that’s what everyone wants the card for. It could be 0 yen and many would still want it!

Thoughts

Amazing collab if you live in Japan. Even if you don’t have a PAD JP account to pick up a Happy Tamadra, if you can get the JP McDonald’s app, you can still roll for coupons and use in Japan.

With the structure of this collab, it’s pretty unlikely that North America server will get this collab, despite how American it is! We can dream though, my NA account will keep waiting for the impossible. 🙂

What’s also interesting is the unannounced Part 2 of the collab… We hope to see this Cotton as a real card in PAD!
