[PADR] All About Dragon Callers (Updated 1/25)
With the newest PAD Radar Update, Dragon Callers begin to travel around the world! This is my mini guide on Dragon Callers, and how I managed to beat them previously.
1/25: Updated with more 6* callers and names!
What are Dragon Callers?
Dragon Callers are opponents you can fight as Challenges Battles, started as JP-only in Oct. 26, 2017. Previously you can only find them while traveling around Japan. With this update, you can find them after searching, even outside of Japan! These Challenge Battles require Challenge Tickets, which are obtained from Chests (silver or higher) you find from search.
Winning a battle against these Dragon Callers will give 50 (nerfed from 100) and 1,000 Gold as reward, depending on rarity of the Dragon Caller. Once battled (win or lose), the Dragon Callers are gone from your map.
The Different Dragon Callers
Two types of Dragon Caller are available, one harder than the other. Elite Dragon Callers (エリート龍喚士) are 5* and more common, rewards 50 Gold when you beat them. There are 5 attributes of these Dragon Callers possible, with similar team setups and move sets (which means once you beat one, you can definitely beat the rest).
Expert Dragon Caller (エキスパート龍喚士, 6*) are much rarer and harder to beat, but you are rewarded 1,000 Gold when you defeat them. You can see that their team lineups are different in the screenshot.
Each Dragon Callers have different types, and slightly different Leader Skills. They are not obtainable as your own armor. Below are the details on each Dragon Caller, from my PADR Soul Armor guide (which will be moved to here soon).

Mama’s Experience/Tips:
I’ve managed to fight a few when they were still JP only. My big tip for battling them is that their skills are in a rotation, and they always do something like:
Turn 1: Haste (20 turn haste) to start to bring all skills up.
Turn 2: He then use 1-2 orb changers and may attack. If I recall, 35% shield and 1 turn haste on this turn or next.
Turn 3: He will use the rest of the Active Skills to burst you down.
Turn 4: 20 turn Haste and repeat.
I don’t recall which exact skills are used at the moment, but I recall there wasn’t a huge variation between the different attributes of Dragon Callers in the same rarity. It’s been 2 months since I fought one. Even for me in Japan, it’s always close encounters like this screenshot, while I’m on train (I’m certainly not jumping off a train for this). Close but no cigar.
Note that beating the Dragon Callers do give a small reward, 50 Gold for beating the 5* callers (previously 100 Gold, now nerfed). Whether it’s worth it… up to you. It’s fun anyways.
The one time I won…
- I used the Haste turn to get a head start in winning them, since their move sets are preset and very predictable.
- Two of my key elements were the full heal active (on Izanagi) and a mini shield (35%, Gaia Dragon). I’m sure if I had Raphael as sub it’d be better.
- I actually “main” Izanagi as lead because I don’t have better leads.
- Also I haven’t fought the 6* Dragon Caller, but I don’t think I have a working team for him anyways.
If I can beat them with this (with a bad team), so can you!
