Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion (JP: 新幹線変形ロボ シンカリオン, or “Transforming Bullet Train Robot Shinkalion”), is a Japanese franchise started in 2015, focusing on Japan’s bullet train, Shinkansen! To summarize, the story revolves around 10 year old kids, who are most suitable to drive the bullet trains (don’t ask), and to battle the mysterious Black Shinkansen in order to save the world.
Each region of Japan has bullet trains and IC cards (their electronic money card system, in the anime it’s Shinca, which are the assist evo.) of different design. Each route also have multiple Shinkansen that runs at different speeds! For example, Nozomi, Hikari, and Kodama all run on the same route, but at different speeds and restrictions (Those who have traveled to Japan should be familiar with Hikari and Kodama).
Collab-ception
The coolest bit about Shinkalion is the crossovers, with Miku Hatsune and characters from Neon Genesis Evangelion (EVA) appearing in the series! In fact, they have the same voice actors as original too! Who would’ve thought we’d see Miku and EVA in PAD like this?
The major difference for Miku is that she’s only 11 years old here (vs. 16 years old), and wears glasses a lot more. Rei and Asuka from EVA also appear in the anime too (Episode 3)!
Speaking of EVA, ended last year was this EVA Shinkansen train that ran between Shin-Osaka and Hakata, which has a cockpit that some lucky people can sit in, and take a ton of photos! (Can you tell I love trains yet) [ Source: 500 TYPE EVA PROJECT ]

8 years of wounding us in NA server :'( The code is already written, and money will be made if the JP only collabs were to be given to us. I just don’t understand the obstacles to fair and equitable release of content across regions of this game. It’s unprecedented regional discrimination in my life as a gamer.
