Those who knew the fun fact that the new Fest Exclusive, Shelling Ford, was drawn by the same artist who drew Detective Conan might have had a clue that this was coming! (Ken wrote this part don’t yell at me)

Why did this return?

No words on the official reasoning but this is most likely why the collab returned. In short,

Detective Shelling Ford was added as Fes. Exclusive, and he was designed by the manga artist of Detective Conan (which is published in Shonen Sunday magazine). Originally he was featured as a Card / Card Skin in Chrono Ma:Gia, and can be obtained along with the newest manga volume of Chrono Ma:Gia.

Something interesting to note is that the first series of the manga (Chrono Ma:gia -Toki no Shōkansha to Shiraha no Hanayome, which is in this collab too:

), is on hiatus since last year because the manga artist is suffering from health issues (Related Anime News Network article here). A new series called Chrono Ma:gia: Mugen no Haguruma (クロノマギア無限の歯車, illustrated by another artist) started 4 months later and is ongoing in Shonen Sunday magazine.

It’s weird that the new manga is not added as a card in the collab’s return. Maybe next time?
