Noob Appgle’s Monster Hunter New Cards Review

Hey guys! This is my first time doing a review on new cards, hope you enjoy it and find them useful!

Disclaimer: These are all personal opinions only, please do not blindly follow what I say about these cards.

Translations of actives/leader skills are here.

Let’s start with assist evos!

Rathios

Rathalos

It’s pretty useless, but you can still use it for any fire teams that relies on orb enhances, which…you can’t find a lot right now.

Rathian

Rathian

You want that one card which can resist all poison orb spawns for you? Here’s one assist evo to help you out! Along with a delay you can have a wider range of strategic setups for specific dungeons (if you need one of course).

Narga

Narga

Compare to Rathian, blind resist has a narrower range of usage than poison resist, but that doesn’t mean it’s useless! Just…harder to find a use since the active isn’t as useful as a delay.

Tigrex

Tigrex

Probably only an ATK boost for nukes which you can’t find a lot that can stand on its own but rely on Solais instead… FeelsBadMan

Astalos

Astalos

Three different killers that the majority dislikes(?), but the high ATK and that ATK enhance makes it a nice assist for ATK boost which some light cards need.
(Is there one? The only one I can think of is King Arthur LOL)

Gammoth

Gammoth

Water cards, need HP? Like, even more HP? This helps.

(My Orochi is only with 2 HP+ and 1 HP latent, dat HP)

Is it really useful? Probably not lol.

Amatsu

Amatsu
Useful active, high HP, good awakenings, but compare to it’s monster form it has lost it’s powerful Follow-up Attack ability which you still can’t find a lot now. Therefore, evoing Amatsu into assist form is only for whales or luckers who has multiples of it. If you really want to do it, it’s still not a bad choice, but you might regret losing a great, lovely, water FUA card…With new uevos coming to the game, more water FUA cards are available now to use, therefore Amatsu isn’t that essential anymore.

Mitsuzune

Mizutsune

Lovely RCV, but I’d prefer not evoing to keep the coop boost and FUA instead. And yes there are more FUA choices out there.

Galvenus

Galvenus

Compare to Amatsu and Mizutsune, Galvenus has a completely different storyline, even though it has lost it’s FUA, the new awakening – movement restriction resist, makes it a really nice strategic assist for some harder dungeons e.g. Khepri Descended and Colosseum. (Or more in the future)

Unfortunately, the active isn’t that useful so it’s only being used as a delay resist for other actives in most cases.

Kirin

Kirin

In my most sincere opinion, this is for yog or any light row teams that needs more light rows. In other words, you’ll find a better use of Kirin’s assist evo in farming.

Valphalk

Valphalk

With the new addition of Dkali’s new Uevo just now, Valphalk’s assist evo has become something I would love to have on her.Since Dkali’s new evo has 2 combo enhance awakenings along with a TPA, another TPA will boost her ATK to another level.

This is 10 combos with 1 dark TPA, as you can see the Dkali on the most left has almost 100k higher dmg than the other two. Another TPA makes a huge difference!

Even though the board changer Valphalk has doesn’t include heart orbs, but the potential is a lot bigger than I’ve expected.

Diablos

Diablos

Same as Amatsu, only for whales and luckers, especially when Diablos as a leader has been outstanding since the first day released, I’m sure most people wouldn’t want to waste their only Diablos for this lol.

New MH cards:

Paolumu

Paolumu

A tri-colour board changer along with 2 healer killers, not too bad to be honest! Pretty nice for people who doesn’t have Ryune.

Paolumu’s assist evo

Paolumu’s assist evo

Jammer resists are very nice, isn’t it? Blocking bomb spawns as well!

Legiana

Legiana

Just another board refresh active that looks slightly better than Maeda Keiji to me.

Legiana’s assist evo

Legiana’s assist evo

Water rows! More water rows! All I can think of is Meri!In all seriousness, I can’t really comment if it’s actually good right now, but I’m sure someone will need a delay with a board changer.

Nergigante

Nergigante

Even though Nergi as a leader might be pretty weak, but it’s active and useful awakenings makes it a really good dark FUA sub for a lot of dark teams.

Nergigante’s assist evo

Nergigante’s assist evo

Skill boost! Woohoo~~~ really nice assist for Kamimusubi as well! Worth making if you use her a lot (and have a Nergigante).

Brachydios

Brachydios

Despite the fact that the Jammer spawning is super annoying to see, having double devil killers can be used as a potential Yog sub for 3P UDR. A 300x ATK light damage active is also good for certain farming teams, or even possible ranking teams!

This also isn’t essential to have, but it’s a nice addition to your button team building list.

Brachydios’s assist evo

Brachydios’s assist evo

This is even more specialised towards buttoning, therefore if you love pressing and killing enemies, here’s your number one choice.

Thunderlord Zinogre

Thunderlord Zinogre

This dragon is basically a light Uruka, really nice leader skill as well, it’s double damage reduction shields caught my eyes from the very beginning, even if the reduction rate is 30%, the maximum reduction rate can be up to 75.99% with double Zinogre.Although the rate is really high as a combo lead, the difficulty to activate leader skill is relatively high, and it’s hard to always have 5 colours on the board.Personally, I’ll only use Zinogre as a sub to Uruka if I happen to have no Uruka in the past.

Thunderlord Zinogre’s assist evo

Thunderlord Zinogre’s assist evo

Whoever loves to have more time extends, assist evo is your choice. But I think most people will prefer to have it as a stronger sub to their teams.

Female Hunter, Barioth X gear

Female Hunter, Barioth X gear

A coop-only rainbow leader, probably going to make a breakthrough in the all Blue male hunter scene. Really nice short cooldown delay and healing active, combo enhance with a dragon killer makes her my favourite hunter now.And she looks cute too! XD

Male Hunter, Brachy X Gear

Male Hunter, Brachy X Gear

His active is even better to me compare to Barioth hunter (I like shields more than delays), but as a leader….. he’s just for fun. If you don’t have any extra male hunter or MP, I wouldn’t recommend making him.

Male Hunter, Nergigante α Gear

Male Hunter, Nergigante α Gear

If any of you read the previous stats for Full Metal Alchemist, Nergi Hunter’s active is really similar to Scar’s, and with Coop boost he can have around 3,800 ATK so the damage he can deal to enemies can go up to 900,000+ (counting 5+1 from friend in coop mode).

Definitely worth making him, but don’t waste all your MP for him, unless you’re a whale or you have too much MP to spend lol.If you are a whale and have multiple Christmas Solais, you can even use her to boost the damage to 1 million+. But in most cases him on its own (whole team Nergi Hunter) is more than enough to button through most dungeons that needs farming.

Female Hunter, Legiana α Gear

Female Hunter, Legiana α Gear

Anyone who doesn’t have Indra or any other shield active that reduces damage more than 50% can make a good use of her, a 12 turn 75% damage reduction shield which is farm-able, really useful for a lot of dungeons.

I probably won’t use her much as a leader though, it’s…just not as good.

If you’ve read to the end, THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH! If you have any questions for comments (or complaints XD) feel free to comment below!

  1. Tigrex wep is pretty nice for farmable nukes you can’t slap onto solais (Noah, Kagato, Zeromus and Kefka)
