Awoken Skills, or “Awakenings”, are passive effects that each card has. These typically come locked when you obtain the card, but occasionally, special events will give cards with all awakenings unlocked.
Note that this is different from Super Awakenings.
How to unlock an Awoken Skill
To unlock an awoken skill, you must feed any of these to a card:
Awakenings always unlock from top to bottom; you cannot choose the order to unlock.
The TAMADRA
TAMADRA |
TAMADRA will always unlock one awakening without fail. |
Baby TAMADRA |
Baby TAMADRA ave approximately a 40% chance to unlock one awakening. You can exchange two of these for a full TAMADRA in the Monster Exchange. |
King TAMADRA |
King TAMADRA will always unlock the entire card’s awakenings. Note that it does not unlock and store 9 awakenings, it will unlock exactly the amount the card has. If you use a King TAMADRA on a card with 5 awakenings and later evolve it to a form with 9, it will still only have 5 unlocked. |
Full awakenings: The gold & green stars
Once you fully awaken a card, you will see either a gold or green star on the card’s icon in your box.
- Gold Star: Cards with these in the upper right hand corner can be used as assist on another card.
- Green Star: Cards with Green Stars in the upper right hand corner cannot be used as assists.
Bonus: Tricks with Awoken Skills
A card keeps the number of awoken skills unlocked (up to 9) regardless how many awoken skills it has, so devolving a card to a form with less awakenings and then evolving again to a different evolution will not make it lose any awakenings. This also allows you to preemptively unlock awakenings of an evolved form. Note that in order to preemptively unlock awakenings in this way, the card must have at least one awoken skill. Cards that have 0 awakenings cannot ‘store’ awakenings.
