Download Japanese version of PAD

Japanese (JP) version is another app on your phone, and doesn’t overlap with your current account in another region. You can use the same E-mail or Facebook account to backup different region of accounts as well.

That means You can run JP, HK/TW, NA, and even KR versions on the same device!

 Apple (iOS) 

A Japanese iTunes account is needed to download the PAD JP app. You can make an iTunes account without credit card information!

While many guides are available online for this, Apple constantly changes things around so some guides are dated. Instead of linking to a guide that fails in few months, I will leave some related links here. Best to search for the most recent methods.

When do you need to login to your JP iTunes?

You don’t need to be logged into your JP iTunes account to play PAD! You need it for these below:

  • Whenever there’s a version update in App Store.
  • When you buy Magic Stones. Unless you have a Japanese credit card, you will need to buy JP iTunes gift card and load onto the account.

 Android 

Method #1 (Simplest method): Get QooApp on your phone to download and update PAD whenever a new version is available!

Method #2: Unless somehow you change the region of your Google Play Store (see next section), you have to download an APK installation file for PAD (JP). No rooting is needed.

  1. Find a site for APK file. Example: Skyozora (with PAD and PADR), wanmp, APKPure. You can use Google to find more sites!
  2. Download and install the latest file. It’s big.
  3. Open PAD (JP) and enjoy!
Note: You have to download new APK file from the APK websites, whenever there is an update.

[Android] Change Play Store region to Japan

Disclaimer: May or may not work. Worth a try though!

  1. On your computer, open an incognito window, go to (Japanese Google, and create a brand new email. If it asks for your region, select Japan.
  2. Go to Google Play Store on your phone and download a VPN that allows you to set-up a VPN to Japan. (Tunnelbear works just fine).
  3. Connect to Japan VPN, and stay connected.
  4. Within your phone settings, add a new Google Account and log-in with the Japanese Google Account you have created.
  5. Go to Google Play Store and switch to your Japanese Google Account.
  6. You may need to give it time to update or not, but if everything was done as follows, you should now see the Japanese Google Play Store. If not, try closing and re-opening the Play Store.
  7. Search for any and all apps you want! (like PAD JP and PAD Radar)
    – You may turn off the VPN once you have downloaded the apps you wanted.
    – If you ever want to revisit JP Google Play Store, you will need to turn on the VPN and enter the Play Store under the JP Google account.
Pro-Tip: Don’t forget to turn on Auto-Update so you do not have to worry about manually updating these apps yourself.

Starting a new PAD account / I just downloaded PAD

Pictorial guide to the beginning of PAD!

  1. Hop into PAD and you’ll be greeted with Terms and Services.

    Click Accept, then you get the popup below. Click Yes (はい).
  2. Enter your name (can change later), 10 characters max, then press OK. If you already have an account and have Device Change Code, use the bottom button to restore your account .
  3. Decide on a starter. That also decides on the Orb color by your name.Choose one, then click Yes (はい) to confirm.

  4. Data download begins! This usually takes a few minutes. Do this on Wifi unless you aren’t worried about data. Once you’re done, you get this screen.
    Press OK and the tutorial will begin!

My Tips

Just some tips here and there.

For new players

  • I assume most players starting JP accounts have played NA/EU before. General tips applies, including things like not buying Tamadras from the MP store (unless you are a whale), and not selling your REM rolls.
  • Should I reroll? I’d recommend collecting some easy stones to do a few rolls, and see how that goes. Unless your starting roll are impossible to use or you hate them, just stick with it. JP server gives out a lot on a daily basis, you’re better off just getting started ASAP and pick up all the rewards.
  • Check the Ranking Dungeons. If the current ranking dungeon uses preset teams and give decent EXP, you can probably rank up fairly quickly! (That means you don’t have to co-op Monday Dungeon all the time, which is boring!)
  • If Gachadra event is ongoing, run the dungeons! These are special events where everyone on the JP server contribute to beat up Egg Machines in a dungeon (2 difficulties, co-opable). There are personal goals and server-wide goals to achieve, with great rewards such as free REM and Special REM rolls!! Not to mention the dungeons give great EXP generally, and the boss drop (the Egg Machines themselves) are good fodders or MP.
  • See resources for sites you should check out.

For some easy Magic Stones

  • Connect your account to your Facebook account, for 10 Magic Stones when completed! (It’s also a method of backing up your account)
  • Play some PADW (That tamadra on the bottom right of the Title Screen). It’s a mini game with cute Tamadras and puzzles!
  • Gift dungeons. Almost a gift dungeon every day, especially during events!

For intermediate players

Once you feel comfortable playing the JP version…

  • Download PAD Radar (PADR) and link to the game. You can get a bit more rewards even if you aren’t super involved in the battle aspects of PADR. Swipe for orbs and you are on your way to quick +297’s and rewards! See the PAD Radar overview/guide about PADR!

[Android] Set up Google Migration

Instructions translated from PAD Official website.

  1. Head to Others → User Settings, choose the last option (Game Data Migration).
  2. This asks you if you want to set up Data Migration. Click Yes (はい).Should be obvious, but this needs a Google account.
  3. Give permission to PAD (The right button, アクセス許可) to continue.
  4. And completed!

[Android] Migrating a PAD account

  1. On a fresh PAD app, instead of entering name, click on the highlighted button, “Migrate Game Data using Google Account” (Googleアカウントを使ったゲームデータ引き継ぎはコチラ).
  2. Choose the second option to begin Game Data Migration (ゲームデータの引き継ぎ).(First option is the guide)
  3. Enter your PAD ID.
  4. Choose the Google account you have set up Game Data Migration on. (Give permission if needed)
    Press OK when ready. Enjoy!
