Overview

GungHo Collab brings characters from other games made by GungHo into Puzzle and Dragons. There’s no collab REM and all the cards are available through means not involving magic stones. Like previous events most of these characters are available through the PEM, but this time there are also 2 cards available for 750K monster points and 2 cards available through trading using Rainbow Event Medals .

Read more about this event here.

Leo Bloomfield

Stat Lv.99 +297
HP 4486 5476
ATK 1846 2341
RCV 559 856

[4685]Leo Bloomfield
レオ・ブルームフィールド

Balance

Active Skill: Change Heal, Jammer, Poison, Mortal Poison orbs to Water orbs; For 1 turn, 3x ATK for Water Att. (20 ➧ 15)

Leader Skill: 3x ATK for Water Att.; 2x ATK on the turn a skill is used; 3x ATK and reduce damage taken by 25% when matching 3 or more colors [1/324/1, 43.75%]

Leo is a versatile card, sorta a decent leader and a sub but ultimately not worth the MP.

Leaderskill Scaling:

With blue Subs No Skill Use Skill Use
<3 Attributes 9x 36x
≥3 Attributes 81x, 43.75% 324x, 43.75%

Leo’s blue attribute restriction makes team building difficult, as it prevents the use of otherwise great rainbow subs like Light Ideal and Ragnarok Dragon .
Active skill requirement can be resolved by subbing something with a 1 CD active (which leads to the lost of an active slot) or by playing Leo as a 81x/43.75% shield leader, using actives to burst down spawns that would have required an active either way. The later approach is acceptable if most spawns in the dungeon die to 81x and you don’t need to access the 36x multiplier for damage control.
Since he only needs 3 attributes, Leo’s is able to make use of tricolor with no hearts and Greco3 style 3 colors + heart boards. This is great for getting enough hearts for FUA and makes VDP much easier to use.

Leo himself is a strong offensive sub with decent stats, solid awakenings, and a nice burst active. His active skill is a orb change and 3x burst, similar to Edward minus the full heal aspect. Skill charge helps to recycle the active between floors and to charge up long inherits, though it’s hard to find a team that is both blue focused and covers all attributes. His God and Devil killers works well with balance typing enabling him to equip any latent type. Killers are not as flexible as 7c and ruins damage control against spawns like Sopdet, but they can be situationally stronger given the right target.

If you are thinking about buying Leo, consider whether you have the subs to support him:

  • : Tardis is blue, covers green, and brings the 1 CD active.
  • : Ultimate Gunma(JP Only) is an alternative who doesn’t benefit from Leo’s LS fully but covers two colors, allowing more flexibility in other subs.
  • Color coverage subs: Running all attributes is recommended for skill charge and consistent shield activation. Blue main attribute subs are prefered due to Leo’s blue specific burst active, though certain blue sub attribute options are strong enough to warrent a look.

Leo’s Assist Evo: Oceanus, Scourge of the Seas Card

There’s no real reason to get this, as there are several other assist evos that give TPA or blind resist.
Even if you have none of those equips, these awakes are not strong enough to justify 750k MP.

Kuroyuri

Stat Lv.99 +297
HP 5094 6084
ATK 2356 2851
RCV 71 368

[4688]Kuroyuri
クロユリ

Dragon / Physical

Active Skill: For 6 turns, recover 40% of max HP; Charge allies’ skill by 1 turn (17 ➧ 12)

Leader Skill: 3x ATK and reduce damage taken by 25% when matching Dark+Fire; 3x ATK when matching 3 or more connected Heal orbs; 2x ATK on the turn a skill is used [1/324/1, 43.75%]

Kuroyuri’s most notable feature is her active skill; she is otherwise an mediocre leader and sub.

Leaderskill Scaling:

With skill use No match match Without skill use No match match
No match 4x 36x No match 1x 9x
match 36x, 43.75% 324x, 43.75% match 9x, 43.75% 81x, 43.75%

Kuroyuri has the same multiplier and similar skill use requirement as Leo and thankfully Myne now exists as a dark 1 CD skill sub.
Reliance on two specific colors makes her shield less consistent than those based on combos or multiple colors and the requirement prevents the use of bicolor boards to burst. tricolor boards are uncommon, limited to DSonia , RNey , and Planar , but you can rely on more general boards.

Although Kuroyuri has no passive defense in the leader skill, her active is 1 turn haste and 6 turns of 40% autoheal at 12 CD such that two lead Kuroyuri can be cycled for permanent autoheal. Kuroyuri herself cannot take advantage of this very well, but it’s extremely powerful on high HP leaders such as Lajoa , Barbara & Julie or Mega Roots since more total HP directly translates into more healing per turn. Since it’s not neccessary to clear board for hearts, teams with Kuroyuri system can just stall forever.

If you intend to purchase Kuroyuri, buy 2 or buy none. Without 2 for a system, Kuroyuri nothing more than a mediocre 7c sub.

Shindou Honoka

Stat Lv.99 +297
HP 4248 5238
ATK 1663 2158
RCV 425 722

[4683] Honoka Shindou
神道ほのか

Healer

Active Skill: 50% damage reduction for 2 turns. Heal for 50% of max HP every turn for 2 turns. (16 ➧ 11 Turns at Lv.6)

Leader Skill: All attribute cards ATK x4, 35% all damage reduction when HP is greater than 80%. ATK x4 when simultaneously clearing 6 connected Light orbs.

Honoka has good damage and defenses on paper, but she’s severely hampered by her ≥80% HP conditional.

Leaderskill Scaling:

< 80% HP ≥ 80% HP
< 6 1x 16x
≥ 6 16x, 57.75% 256x, 57.75%

Her shield functions similar to Edward ‘s shield, but since her threshold is 80% any 99% gravity will bring her below. As such she’s effectively a 16x row leader most of the time. While she can theoretically be used in farming, her HP conditional means you might as well just run Zeus Verse .

As a sub she brings 4 , massive RCV, and a decent active. A shield combined with auto recovery is useful for stalling, especially for 4x HP 1x RCV leaders. Sadly it only lasts 2 turns and the shield is only 50%, often insufficient for more fragile teams. Honoka can be compared with Yuna as light shield subs with great RCV but a 7c sub is much easier to fit than a light rows sub.

Honoka’s Assist Evo: General Tamuramaro Card

This is the first assist evo to give 1s of additional movetime and, as mentioned before, the active isn’t half bad either. Time extend is ultimately a luxury but this form is more generally useful than Honoka as a sub either way.

SO135-Alastair

RCV 464 761

Machine / Balanced

Active Skill: Change left-most column into Dark orbs and the right-most column into Wood orbs. Inflict Wood nuke damage equal to team Wood ATK x40 to all enemies. (15 ➧ 10 Turns at Lv.6)

Leader Skill: Wood & Dark attribute cards HP x2. All attribute cards ATK x6 when reaching Wood & Dark combos. Deal ATK x100 damage to all enemies after every orbs elimination. Ignores enemy element, but can be reduced by enemy defense down to 0 damage.

Alastair is amazing from a farming perspective, seeing as she has:

  • 3
  • 2
  • A team total green attack based multitarget nuke active

She is comparable to Nergigante Hunter for being multiboost bases with nuke actives. She has better awakenings than Nergi Hunter, but her nuke active is slower. Even when her nuke isn’t utilized directly, just having her on the team helps push Nergi Hunter’s damage higher.

Her lower CD is generally a plus, but since she has 3 SB and isn’t likely to be inherited, it is best to leave her at skill level 1 so that the multiboost assist active does not come up. Aside from using her own nuke active, Alastair can act as a base for other nuke actives like Durandalf should the situation call for it.

Her leader skill has a unimpressive multiplier of 4/36/1 but also a 100x bonus attack component that can can be used to deal with resolves. Needing to match 2 colors for the attack multiplier means she can’t do the same thing as Kaioh or Pixel Echidna but at least you can activate via orbs created by Alastair’s active for the one floor that needs extra damage.

Aside from farming purposes, Alastair can also function as a decent sub in multiplayer. Her offensive awakenings combined grants a 6.75x sub specific multiplier and multiboost gives her 12.5k HP and 1.7k RCV in coop. She is especially nice for 3P mode where your HP pool is not combined and skill boost is valuable.

PEM Lineup

Most of the rolls are just box cheerleaders or collectables, but nearly all of them make decent subs or even lead for newer players.
I will focus on cards I find useful, if you have anything to say about cards I skipped or glossed over, feel free to leave a comment and I will add it in.
With the exception of the two equip cards, these cards are not inheritable.

New Cards

Typhon, the Avatar of Destruction Card
He’s an assist evo that grants and , both useful awakenings. Team HP is relevent for teams trying to meet some HP threshold while SFUA is a situational but usable way to boost damage and kill resolves.
The active is great too, being the first button with 2 turns of haste and the first 200k all target true damage, not to mention inheritable. It’s a great active to have for farming.

Helen, the Tragic Princess Card
We previously had an equip that granted , but this card has a more generally useful active, longer CD should the active be undesireable, and 2 instead of 1 and . The active skill is 2 turn delay and 3 turn blue skyfall buff, which can be useful even outside of blue teams for cancelling unwanted 99 turn skyfalls from spawns like Osiris.

Warrior Goddess of Paradise, Brunhild
A straightforward x200 all target nuke with no special conditions would have been an amazing button inherit, but Brunhild is sadly not inheritable. She does have 2 and decent attack, once hypermaxed she deals 555600 green damage before any inherits. Aside from farming uses, Brunhild a functional green sub, hampered mainly by low HP and an active with long cooldown but a generally irrelevent effect.
Her leaderskill is combo based and pretty decent until you get below 50% HP, as such you should pair her with a different lead in order to not lose too much damage while under the threshold.

Brigadier General of Hell, Sargatanas
The active is of questionable value as 2 turns of awoken bind clear is often insufficient, but delay is always nice. As a god killer sub Gilles Legato is much stronger, though Sargatanas brings some for the rest of the team.
His leader skill looks decent on paper but requires you to stay under 50% HP while not offering a especially high multiplier for the risk.

Great Fairy, Rutile
Half decent RCV stick with her double and double , but Morgana is the same thing but better and Eir adds more RCV overall.

Shino Sanada
Shino is interesting in red farming for having 2 , 3 , and an active that is both a button and a row maker. Sadly she is single target and not true damage, so her usage cases will be limited.

Old Cards

Note: the coloring book series are also available in the regular rare monster PEM

Coloring Kali
BKali got a second and two , still stuck with low stats and bad active though.

Coloring Gran Reverse
Regular Gran Reverse is better in almost every way and inheritable too, not that either version are particularly useful.

Arthur
Arthur was great for being an all target nuke that also reduces HP to 1 for nukes like Grimmjow and Vritra . He is now even better with a second .

Princess Punt
She’s a single target nuke but her attack is really low and x150 isn’t that impressive.

Vampire
He is now the first farmable board refresh sub with a , might be useful for some ranking.

Yukari
She received 3 which isn’t that relevent for anything.
Double Yukari used to be subbed on Anubis for skill use since she has and , but just make a Gunma instead.

Mini 3K
The REM versions of these cards already kinda suck and these aren’t any better.

Gavlen
For some reason gungho gave it a , don’t worry though he still sucks.

Pianis
She got 2 and but she’s still useless.

Other 3 Star Cards
Unlike Vampire their actives are useless so an extra doesn’t do much.
Verdict

Leo is a good rainbow lead, though I would only buy him after getting more difficult to replace cards like Odindra , Ragdra (s), and Amen . His playstyle isn’t all that different from Rikuu or Ea , though he does have his own advantages.

Kuroyuri has nice art but isn’t really worth the MP, buy her only if you desperately want a viable dark/red match lead, long autoheal active, and coop usable scroll resist sub.

With a finite number of Rainbow Event Medals available, I would go for Alastair first since she’s is both a good button and a good SB stick plus stat stick in coop. That said if you don’t care about farming at all, Honoka is an ok shield assist.

On the PEM side the assist cards, Brunhild, and Arthur are notably useful; the rest is mostly for collection.
