Overview

Mesopotamians are the newest pantheon in the REM, available at 6 star pantheon rates and can receive rate up during weeks where they are featured. They received an ultimate instead of an awoken evolution, so they do not change active skill upon evolution and have rather mediocre stats. There’s no uniform theme in this pantheon, so let us examine each member one by one.

Analysis

Gilgamesh

Gilgamesh is the second pantheon damage absorb void after Lugh

and he is a great addition to any box without a inheritable damage absorb void. Gilgamesh’s secondary effect is a mixed bag: 5 red orbs isn’t always desired but it is an excellent option for swipe farming as it condenses Fujin and Orb Maker into 1 active. Regardless of the specific effect, having a secondary effect makes it possible to use Gilgamesh even when not facing an absorb spawn.

Putting aside his active, Gilgamesh has low sub value. He has a basic array of supporting awakenings but lacks any sort of damage output and has low stats. Only time you’d sub him is to get his active up faster but even then, Fujin

has same number of skill boosts, better stats, and lower cooldown.

Gilgamesh’s leader skill is fairly strong in a pure multiplier sense without being exceptionally orb hungry, but he lacks any sort of defensive traits.

Ea

Ea is among the best rainbow leaders in the game with his simple but effective leader skill. An unconditional 16x combined with no skyfall gives him good damage control while 256x (+43.75% shield) for hitting any 4 colors except hearts is very easy to activate and allows boards like Yang Guifei to be effectively used. Built-in time extend is extremely useful for activating a shield while awoken bound, and the lack of type restrictions makes team building much more flexible. Ea’s main drawback is the complete lack of passive defense, inability to activate his shield without activating his full multiplier makes stalling difficult.

Ea can also be used as a no skyfall leader farming with unconditional 4x. Damage wise Ea is weaker than the more common no skyfall options, but does not have the extra animation of Amun

style board clear leads or the god-typing and HP conditional requirements of DMeta . He’s a usable choice if the dungeon does not have very tanky spawns.

Beyond his leader skill, Ea is notable for having rainbow haste . He has 2 TPAs for offensive awakenings but he’s still going to hit like a wet towel since his base attack is so low. His active is a 1 turn 50% shield and +2c, essentially a weaker version of Valentine Kushi

for the same 15 CD but reduced by rainbow haste. Overall, Ea can function as a support sub on rainbow teams to cover blue and green, but he does not contribute much in terms of stats or damage.

Enkidu

Enkidu is rather similar to Vishnu

for being green TPA focused subs that can form a system to get permanent green skyfall. Enkidu also brings permanent 1.5x RCV buff, which is useful for removing enemy RCV debuffs and increasing team survivability. Main drawback to an Enkidu system is the fact that you have to run 2 Enkidus instead of subs with better weighted stats and awakenings and that you must dedicate 2 active skill slots to keep up the system.

His leader skill is combo based and easy to activate but also really weak at only 56.25x. He has interesting combo of HP multiplier and built-in auto recovery but it’s not enough to justify leading him over any other combo leader.

Shamash

Shamash is a decent rainbow leader with 4x HP giving great tankiness as long the 1x RCV is be fixed with heart OEs . That said she’s still underwhelming due to needing all 5 colors except hearts for a relatively low maximum multiplier of 144x.

Her active is 30% gravity + 3 turn bind/awoken bind clear at 20 CD. Both effects are situationally useful but rarely simultaneously, and the cooldown is long even with rainbow haste in mind.

Allatu

Allatu is another addition to the pool of dark double 7c subs, and she isn’t all that impressive. She has an interesting 3 turn delay + Red/Blue/Dark board active, but it has a fairly long CD at 15. Beyond that her stats are mediocre and her other awakenings are decent but not exceptional, so subs like Awoken Nohime

and DKali can generally fill her role.

Her leader skill is much more interesting, as she’s the first 7×6 color cross lead. Due to the exponential scaling nature of cross leads, she can deal high damage even without swaping to a stronger cross lead. When used as a 7×6 lead swap with a compatible cross lead like Diara

or Dantalion , Allatu allows for a higher multiplier before the swap active is up in exchange for not having any sort of defensive component. The +5s part of the leader skill is very useful for a cross lead, but ultimately a crutch.

Verdict

When considered as a whole, Mesopotamian is a middling pantheon. Gilgamesh and Ea have great value for a variety of boxes but Enkidu, Shamash, and Allatu are not as useful. None of them are particularly dupe friendly at this time, as they only have one evolution, no active skill changes, and none of them are exceptional subs. As such, I would not recommend chasing them during highlights over rolling a godfest.

As usual, everything presented here is just my opinion. Feel free to leave comments and feedback!
