[Misc.] Just a side story on translation

When I first saw the news I took a quick glance at his name, and thought it read アルバイト (Arubaito, derived from the German word Arbeit meaning work), which in Japanese is “Part-time job”… instead of アルバート (Albert). I have never been so confused.

Karyu had a good laugh and told me to include it here (to shame myself), so here we go.

  4. Maybe I don’t understand how this card is better than some of the currents cards available but can someone explain how is Albert worth rolling for.

    1. 3 each of VDP and 7c, with an active that gives 6 wood orbs on fairly short CD while also clearing time/ATK debuff? That’s my guess. I’ll admit I’m not exactly on top of the meta though.

    2. His AS is really good (I don’t think I need to explain why). He have a easy LS requirements, having a 5+ linked on an 7×6 board is beyond easy. The prolem I’m seeing is he don’t have an optimal pairing leader.

        1. The plethora of wood subs have been accumulating over the year without a REALLY good wood lead. It’s prime time for a META lead to appear. For example (SR.Freyja, Alynna, Fujin, Menoa, Chakol, the Wood wise dragon, OdinDra, Odin. To name a few)

    1. The only fairy king I can think of is the one from Seven Deadly Sins, loool. The name is indeed weird though.

  6. I honestly thought “Albert” was going to turn out to be a particularly badly-translated “Oberon” to go with Titania, but plugging the kanji into Google does in fact get me japanese racehorses named Albert and the Albertson’s retail outlet, so… yeah. WTF Japan indeed!

  7. Yea.. not to much talk about the card itself here meta wise. Such a low attack stat but still doing to good damage on VDPs. Honestly the lure of this card is in it’s active and leader skill IMO.

  8. They designed her awakenings in a way that Nero would be amazing as a lead using her as a sub. Needing so many wood orbs for damage is too much work though; Aljae is easier to use, does more damage, and doesn’t require VDP too pierce shields since her active does it. Wood cards and teams don’t need VDP awakenings because Aljae exists yet GH pushes VDP as a damage source and requirement for cards like Alberta, Nero, Deku, and Lilia.

Albert x Aljea could work really well and u could use most of the main wood members as sub, aljae is healer, alynna is healer, sind dragon king of sloth is healer, chakaool is physical, that one new wood 6* from king of fighters dunno G/R evo is physical, zela is kinda physical well technically u could make a main wood sub rainbow except G/W i have no idea but well who is a great addition there
